Counselling
About
Mullingar Community Counselling is a specialised service to support people through Counselling and Psychotherapy who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse is defined as abusive behaviour towards another within the home. This abuse can include physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse. Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 people at some stage in their lives and can have long-term effects on a person’s life.
This service provides people with a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to deal with the impact of domestic abuse, heal from the effects of abuse and to consider personal options for the future.
Professionals, individuals and organizations can make referrals and/or an enquiry to the service. The service is managed under the Women’s Community Projects Mullingar.

Who Can Avail of the Service?
The service is for persons aged 16 years and over, who have been affected by sexual or domestic abuse.
What is the Cost?
The service is free, however, where people are in a position to make a contribution to their counselling, this contribution goes directly to maintaining the service.
